Just 1 question, what does the top handle do cos mine doesn't seem to move?

On the earliest models (and the few that had a manual roof) it unlocked the catch to allow the roof to come back up.
From quite a bit of experience I would say that its main function is to rattle incessantly and annoy the hell out of the driver.
If yours doesn't rattle, leave it well alone.
