There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that this car ticks lot's of boxes for some lucky buyer out there who'd probably want to haggle to £8k.
I'm in the market just now and, although it's not an m-sport, the sports seats are a massive plus. I'm also a fan of the 296's and the contrasting leather. Black carpets are good too with ivory leather.
I've got it in my head that I-drive is a must for me in terms of spec so that's all that'd put me off this car.
Get it onto autrotrader for £60 and the audience reach is massive/instant.
Having said all the above, the condition and history of the car could see the right person pay anywhere up to nearer £9k? :?
I was the same when I started looking.. I was sure I wanted an MSport, Red leather and iDrive but in the end I decided on the “right car”.. there’s always a compromise to be made it seems. My missus has iDrive on her X3 and having driven that many times I can honestly say not having it in mine bothers me even less. It’s ok but a bit dated in IMHO.

I wouldn't take too much notice of AT's 'suggested asking price for private sales. They seem to be heavily biased toward the trade these days (probably as 95% of cars advertised are traders who pay their wages). Many dealers also use AT 'software' to gauge prices and sales activity. I have seen a large indy dealer's PC screen which was using AT software as their 'platform'.

I sold a Civic Type R last Autumn privately through AT. They gave a suggested selling price of £26.5k. I knew it was worth more so put it up at £29.5k. I sold it in two weeks for £29.5k and had a list of buyers waiting with cash.

I would say Kevan's car should sell for £8.5-9k easily. Hard bit is persuading punters on national selling sites it's better than the other offerings.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Thanks for the feedback, it’s most useful. It does seem my initial price was a bit ambitious, but I had to put something to fit with forum rules.

I’ve been through my first round of chemo and feeling a bit better this week, so I am probably better prepared to deal with the tyre kickers etc advertising on AT will likely bring (until the next round  ) True Blue kindly penned an advert for me to make things easier, so I am good to go when the mood takes me.

Meantime if anyone was considering my car but was put off by the price, do drop me a PM and we can see if we can “ave a deal” as TVs Mr Brewer would say. :)

Good luck with the sale, I've been trying to promote your car on the forum where ever I see an opportunity... lets hope we get better weather soon and as they say...'when the roof goes down the price goes up!' I sold mine through the forum a couple of weeks ago, while also having an advert on AT. The prices have come down a lot from where we were a year/8 months ago so I was more realistic with the price. The main thing was the car went to right new owner

So taking on board some of the feedback above I have dropped the asking price to £9,250… that’s where I’ll initially test the water on AT etc.

Also thanks to Zed Baron and one or two others for promoting my sale where the opportunity arises.

So today the Z4 has found a new home in Wales with forum member “mudmonkey” (Simon).

Sad to see her go as you can imagine, but delighted that she has been bought by such a nice bloke as Simon, he clearly intends to take care of the ol’ girl.

It was a pleasure to meet and deal with such an honest and pleasant bloke, the whole process couldn’t have been smoother and more affable 👍.

Good outcome Kevan!

Forum buyers do seem to be a decent, honest bunch. Except me...I'm a dick.
