Please see below a link to the sale of my prized Z4, which I initially posted in the E89 section. The linked email is self explanatory and explains my “genuine reason for sale”. I will try to post some current photos if I feel better and it stops raining, meanwhile I am happy to answer any questions around spec, service history etc etc
I am obliged by forum rules to quote a price and looking at similar vehicles on dealer sites etc I am seeking £10k.

Kind regards,
Kevan (aka Big Bad Boris)

Apologies this advert is a bit piecemeal, but unfortunately from my perspective it’s the nature of the beast at present. Please see below copies of the service book for further background.

Finally a half decent day yesterday, so I was able to give the old girl a quick wash and take some up to date photos to build my ad,,,,,

Hi Kevan,
Car looks nice. Can't tell from the pictures but was wondering if the car has the hatch in rear bulkhead allowing long items to poke through from the boot into the cabin. I think the hatch is present with the extended storage / load through options.
Very sorry to hear about your illness, I hope things are going as well as possible for you at this difficult time.
Kind Regards,
Andy

Mods- I’m supporting the O.P. with this as I offered my help and he accepted. I don’t think that breaks any rules.
Car is HPI clear.
I had a spare HPI ‘type’ check available from a bundle I bought with vcheck, so I have run a check on the Vehicle which I am happy to share with any potential buyer (with Kevan’s consent). I doubt if I can send you the link, but I can screenshot and send. It’s all good though.
In summary, Clear with no reported claims, alerts or mileage discrepancies, only two previous owners - first for 1yr 6 months, second for 9yrs 2 months and Kevan for 3yrs 7 months.
Car complies with current ULEZ requirements - so no ULEZ charge.
Kevan and I have swapped a few PM’s and the only reason we (my partner and I) didn’t view is because she really had her heart set on a white one. This is a very genuine sale.

Thanks Martin - your help is much appreciated.
Just to mention the first owner was the BMW dealership, the 2nd owner (a lady doctor) bought it directly from them on the recommendation of a friend that worked there.
ANDY - no it doesn’t have the ski hatch opening, I was fine with that as I can’t ski and we are short on mountains here in Essex
Regards,
Kevan

Haha, that made we me laugh today, in spite of TAP losing all of our golf clubs enroute to Lisbon.ANDY - no it doesn’t have the ski hatch opening, I was fine with that as I can’t ski and we are short on mountains.
Good to see you looking for the lighter side of things and making the best of life despite all you are having to deal with at the moment.
If TAP can't find my clubs, maybe I no longer need a car with the hatch!
Take care,
Andy

Hi Andy, yes I am definitely trying to maintain my sense of fun, some days it’s easier to do that than others, but I shall maintain my schoolboy level of humour as long as possible..
I have used the car a few times for golf. I find the easiest way is to put the trolley, shoes and the 300 spare balls I need etc in the boot and the clubs in the front passenger space, luckily most golfers don’t have friends so it’s not an issue That way you can have the roof down on your way to and from the course. With the addition of a wig on top of your golf bag passers by can be fooled into thinking you even have a girlfriend..
In all seriousness (for once) in light of the above I don’t know if you are interested in the car, but to date I have only had it for sale here on the forum hoping it would go to a good and caring home, but obviously most people on a Z4 forum…already have a Z4. Needs now dictate that I need to widen the audience and I will be putting it on EBay/ Auto Trader etc imminently - so if you want “first mover” advantage now is the time to utilise it.

Adding some more pictorial information on the service record and the book pack etc to further demonstrate the provenance of the car.
A little interest so far, but nobody knocking the door down. Am I asking too much ££ at this point?…or is it as I mentioned above…. most people on a Z4 forum already have a Z4?
Now the sun is beginning to show its face I plan to widen the advertising range to Ebay, Auto Trader etc, but as I’ve said before I really want it to go to so somebody on here so that I know she will be looked after.

Lower miles, equal or better spec’d 30i were shifting for £8k a few weeks ago..they had started out at £11.5k..
It’s a brutal time for selling E89s unless you have a punter particularly motivated for some reason in your car..
Wish you the best ..

We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Thanks B21, I appreciate the feedback.
Anyone else have thoughts on a current price point for the car as presented? I have of course built in some negotiating room into the initial quoted price, I assume we all do that?
Also do we subscribe to the… sun comes out, roofs (rooves?) come down , prices go up theory, or is that just a myth?

I suspect B21 may not be a far off terms of valuation, although probably on the low side.
For comparison there was a manual, silver 30i msport advertised on autotrader located in Cornwall, it had the Satnav (which I think adds value as it can be easily cheaply upgraded to support android auto/carplay) and extended storage, with a similar mileage/mot history to yours. It also had 18 inch alloys (which I like due to the reduced risk of cracking). It was initially listed at just under 10k and was reduced to 9k within 2 days and then immediately sold. I was up in Yorkshire over Easter visiting my new born grandson, otherwise I would have gone down in a heartbeat.
There's also a low spec (doesn't even have heated seats) black 30i auto with 52000 miles, advertised on the same platform for £7800. This one hasn't sold but I think the options on yours would warrant a higher asking price.
I think your best barometer of price would be to list on Autotrader and see how much interest you get.

Autotrader still have the silver 30i at £8950 that sold on their site. Could be helpful ful to see how they worded the advert. I thought they did a decent job on their wording as it made it look really cared for.
There's loads of more expensive ones than that one on AT with higher mileages than yours but there's a white 2009 30i with 62k for £8500 from a private seller. I think if you want a quick sale put it on AT at just under 9k. Hopefully as the weather gets sunnier there will be more people looking for a convertible.

B21 isn't far off at all/bang on. If you start the 'sell my car' process on autotrader, it recommends an asking price of £8,250.
There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that this car ticks lot's of boxes for some lucky buyer out there who'd probably want to haggle to £8k.
I'm in the market just now and, although it's not an m-sport, the sports seats are a massive plus. I'm also a fan of the 296's and the contrasting leather. Black carpets are good too with ivory leather.
I've got it in my head that I-drive is a must for me in terms of spec so that's all that'd put me off this car.
Get it onto autrotrader for £60 and the audience reach is massive/instant.
Having said all the above, the condition and history of the car could see the right person pay anywhere up to nearer £9k?
