Well must be new law you don't need lights in fog.

Going to work this morning i would say half the cars passing me had front DRL's on, but no headlights and no tail lights..
Quarter had no lights on at all..
I assume the auto switch on some didn't activate because the fog was too light.

At least on my Zed when halo's on the tail lights are on, but i leave the dipped mains on all the time..

If i had been police i would have dished out lots of fines.
People are stupid and can't look after their own or others safety.

Totally agree, I think having the dash illuminated doesn’t help

That's nothing new. :headbang:

I've encountered loads of cars being driven at night with no lights other than the DRLs, once or twice in quite scary circumstances. :o

Whoever thought making DRLs compulsory was a good idea should have specified that rear lights were illuminated too, the dash wasn't or better still insisted on Auto lights to go with them. It's not exactly rocket science.
Coupes because stunning!

Auto lights don't sense fog. It's a 'thing'.
And the great British public are too thick to think about it. Too used to nanny state (and their cars) doing all the thinking for them.

Maybe the Gov should spend some more of our hard earned tax advertising it on the radio and TV, like they are now advertising to the 'lowest common denominator' to send their kids to school unless they are really unwell. :headbang: :headbang:

It's a worry, it really is. :)
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

I read that touch screens on certain cars are making drivers take their eyes off the road while fiddling with the correct settings. Things like rear mirror controls are no longer on switches forcing the driver to look at the screen. And now 70% of new cars are automatics!

The push buttons for aircon in our cars is bad enough.
You can't beat a knob you can turn without having to look. The Berlingo i have is perfect, knobs click to various positions.
(And why is the temperature control on my cooker not a click switch to set   )
I would not buy a car with only touch screen for control.
I have seen friend in his Tesla trying to use it.

....
You think they are bad on the Z4?....
You should see them on our Ford Kuga, absolute nightmare to find what you want, especially as I only drive ours now and again...
