Opinion / Advice sought
Hi all,
I'm prepping my cherished Tiefgruen Metallic E85 and will be listing for sale soon. Just wanted to canvas opinion re wheels. These are 18" staggered Calibre CCS diamond cut wheels with standard tyre setup (225/40 fronts and 255/35 rears). Because of the ET they tend to stick out without needing spacers, but thankfully no rubbing on wheel arches. They were refurbed last year and apart from the odd curb mark are in excellent condition.
Given the amount of work done and ££ spent on the car, I intend to list for strong asking price.
Would it better to list the car with the wheels as is, or would I better off changing for a set of mv2s or similar and then look to sell the wheels separately?
Kind regards
Rick

I think you'll struggle to sell anything at the moment. Nothing is moving.
With that in mind, I would consider keeping your wheels and going back to standard but then selling at a lower price.
It would help to advise you if we could see a photo as it is now?

Sorry Martin. Pics now added
I know the market is shocking at the moment. Although I'd be in no rush to sell, given everything I've put into it.

Well that does look very nice. They fill the arches nicely.
Why not try to sell the wheels first on here and see what happens?
I think you may do better to sell them separately amongst enthusiasts and then the car looking more standard may appeal to more of your 'average' punters.

Personally I would remove them and put the originals back on, you will more likely get a broader audience. You could always mention you have them to any potential buyer and for an increase in cost put them on. They are very much marmite, personally I think they look quite gaudy but I am sure others on here would think they look fantastic !

100% remove the wheels … they appeal to you but not likely to appeal to a buyer I’m afraid … given I’ve just bought ( well put a deposit on one ) I’d not have looked twice at yours with those wheels on . Oem for selling and especially if you’re after top money

Hope I'm not breaking rules by saying I have a set of refurbed 108s for sale with Falken tyres. Staggered set up. If you want further info rick_bubu, then ping me a message and I can send some pics.

Problem is if you don't have another set of wheels, you have to buy some and potentially get them refurbed (as 99% of used wheels are rubbish IME unless they are very expensive), then potentially buy new tyres for them. Could easily run to £1500 just for a set of wheels to make them ready to sell on.
Then you have to sell your Calibre ones. Used wheels are hard to shift unless they are a very desirable style (or fit the kids' Polos or Corsas).
Personally I would leave your ones on for now and see how it goes. Some will like them, some won't. I think MV2s look wrong on an E85 as I only associate them with 3 series.

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Appreciate the input folks.
Darich - Thanks for reaching out, but a refurbed set of 108s with tyres will be out of my budget.
I'll start looking for some oem wheels in decent ish condition or put out a wanted post. Deffo not planning on refurbing. Will likely move my current Pirelli P zeros to the oe set when I swap the wheels and then look to sell the calibre set without tyres. Although I take on board that they'll likely take some time to shift

rick_bubu, if the MV2s I have advertised are any use let me know. They're not moving it seems and I'd rather have the space back.

A perfect solution to be honest taking those MV2s

I’d probably have a set of 135’s available as well . Respectable condition with out tyres .
