Has anybody on here 'packed' the Banyard cable to solve the door won't open in the sun issue.
Or. Is it an easy job to replace it with a new one?
Cheers

Are you talking about the Bowden cable?
If so simple enough to replace rather than bodge it.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I also have this problem both doors are difficult to open from the outside in whatever weather so much so that my mot tester said I hope it's not like that opening from the inside haha, luckily for me it's not
How easy is the fix then?

It wasn't the cable on mine, excuse the pic but the tooth on the top where I have crudely tried to build up to repair wears away. It needs that extra bit for the final lift of the latch. Google how to remove the handle, very easy and you can see if this is the problem before stripping the door cards out

I'll order a new one, along with spare door card clips and butyl tape. Just fitted a window regulator so non problem with the work, just wondered if the cable could be tightened. Cheers everyone.

Butyl tape doesn't always seal at the bottom edge: pops off a few days later, round the kink about 6 inches from the front.
A far better solution is Tec7 sealant.

From experience spacing the cable only works for so long, it’s the teeth on the plastic handle that wear off.
Check that first as above pic shows.
