First run out of the year.....

Post by Beedub » Mon Mar 18, 2024 8:37 pm

Had my first proper run out Saturday, had a really nice few hours out and about .... Anyone else dusting off their car off for 2024???. I've got my first mega run out at the end of this month where 15 of us are heading out to Anglesey, I'll be amongst a pack of 350zs so that should be fun.

Notes for 2024 - I think I want a quieter exhaust setup, I'm over really noisy cars now!
The car needs a fresh alignment as I haven't had it done for a good few years.
Lots of drives!!

Great looking roadster! Are those Brembo brakes? What can you tell me about them? Thanks!

Here is my Titan Silver out earlier than usual. I had an AFE intake sitting on the table so caved in & taxed the M from March rather than the usual 1st April. Initially a poor move as the rain here in the South West has been so sporadic.

Finally cleared up at the weekend so brought it round from the garage. Intake install was fairly uneventful apart from one nut falling down to the undertray which luckily was visible & I could find again. AFE instructions worse than useless mind.

The BCS exhausts had some love with a tube of Autosol. They lose their presence on a silver car slightly but as the back boxes are quite large they shine nicely when clean & the sun hits them.

It is now chaos from the front & rear. Intake sound slightly drowned out from the exhausts but comes alive around 4k. Put a firm smile back on my face for 2024 but like you Beedub, an alignment is next I think. Shame I have to wait until the sun is down to have any fun as the roads are just so busy all the time.

Enjoy Anglesey, what exhaust setup do you have on your car? Intake also?

Thanks man, the wheels are an actual thing of beauty! i cant help but stare at them everytime i see the car... As mentioned before the sheer quality and construction of these is something else, mold pressed forged monoblocks, insanely light, the hollowed out spokes front and back again is just gorgeous so light you wonder if they are going to be ok on the track lol, we are talking nearly 30lbs down from the oem m3 260m which you can really feel. They were a pretty big investment but i saved 50% of the new cost and these are NLA in bmw fitment meaning they are extremely rare also.

Enjoy the run out, be sure to get some pics up!

Brakes are AP racing 6pots front and 4 pots rear!! They are immense! they can get abit smokey but ive never got them to fade yet, this car is pretty powerful ( around 550hp). Fitment was spot on but needed some careful measurements.

ohhh yess!! lovely!! Bet that intake SINGS!!!

intake wise.... i have a big SNAIL... lol! exhaust is a VBAND large bore setup with 100 CELL cats and , and the RPI GT RACE rear boxes ( these save a huge amount of weight mates to the stock X pipe as i wanted to keep the little resonator, the stock X is also a really well made piece of kit.

Ive had a few runs with them now and its been pretty brutal beating for them! lol This time round they've got a LSX converted one that wants a run, he may just get me! R.E the exhausts yeah its time! The sets i want a super rare, not massively interested in the usual suspects. im after a titanium system, they were a few knocking around so, like the wheels ( which have taken YEARS of waiting to get the right set) as soon as the right one comes up, ill be jumping on it!

Wishing you many clear skies and a great season :driving:

I run year round but I'm in California so the lowest temps we get around here are like 35F (2C) for maybe 2 days. Hoping to hit the track in summer though! Also have plans to visit Europe for the first time including a trip to the Nurburgring :D
