My 2006 2.5Si (N52) keeps throwing up the following code, which returns after resetting:
2E84 BSD electric coolant pump : missing.
Before I fit a new pump (Its on 70K, so probably due one), has anyone seen this code (no other codes show)?
It has never overheated and sits perfectly in the centre of the temp gauge even on the hottest of days.
Water level has stayed normal for the last 2 years.
Many thanks...
Dave.

I've seen BSD codes before on an alternator. Something to do with it not being exactly compatible and upsetting the DME. Though it sworked fine and didn't put any lights on.
If your water pump is original I wouldn't expect that, but if it's been changed before, maybe?

Pretty sure the alternator, and pump is original, and its now got a new battery in as well. I seem to remember getting this code about a year ago, (and forgot about it, as has never had any overheating).
Strange....!

Try cleaning any connectors to the waterpump with electrical contact cleaner, fixed my bsd fault that I had with my alternator, it all worked and charged the battery etc but the car kept throwing a bsd signal fault for the alternator but this is on an m54 engine,

Certainly from experience, try the simple things first!! I will probably change the pump anyway, but if it is a wiring issue, would rather know up front.
