Error Codes 985D & 985F airbag light on dash
Hi guys,
So the airbag light came on the other day and after I plugged my Ancel bm700 reader in it came up with 985D & 985F. So I understand it's the pre-tensioner for the passenger seatbelt. Would the remedy be to just change the pre-tensioner ?? My car is a 2.0l 2005. It's done 102k. Thanks guys if you can help.

Just to confuse you further, it may actually be the SBSL (left satellite module). Get the carpet up and see if it's wet. Then check the plug for any signs of corrosion. Also worth a bit of contact cleaner just in case.Silverback355 wrote: βTue Apr 09, 2024 1:48 pm Hi guys,

It sits right at the bottom rear corner of the inner sill where it meets the B-pillar.
As per this person's problem:

While you're in there, get a photo of the label with the part number on. I may be able to help you.

Hi, thanks for your reply. So the SBSL can throw up an airbag light ? I would never have thought there was anything like that under the carpet. I'll have a look this afternoon and take a photo for you. Thanks mate. Appreciate your help

To clarify, this applies to prefacelift only. Facelift used a slightly different system.Silverback355 wrote: βWed Apr 10, 2024 6:31 am Hi, thanks for your reply. Seat forward, remove the inner door sill trim and the curved piece behind it, pull the carpet up a bit and you'll see the module bolted to the rear of the inner sill.
You will need either the same part number, or any that Realoem shows as exchangeable.
Once connected up there is a bit of a software dance between INPA, NCS Expert, Winkfp and Toolset32 in order to input your car's VIN and system time. Plus a little bit extra if it is not the exact same part number.
I have a few left satellite modules here and the ability to code them in.

Hi, thanks for the heads up on location and how to do. Sorry to mention that it's Pre facelift. So you would be able to help me out with a unit and I would have to send you the VIN number. ? That would be great. Thanks.

Just post up a photo of the whole label.
A replacement module needs to be physically plugged in to your car and coded through your OBD port. This cannot be done remotely then posted to you.
There are companies offering a cloning service but I believe this only applies to the centre (SIM85) module.
So then it just boils down to your location. There are others dotted about who could help and may be much closer to you.
