AUX DIY
Hi - new to this forum - I'm trying to fit an Aux-in to a 2006 Z4M Coupe with SatNav, BT & BMW fitted Ipod Cable and am ordering the cable kit from fruity. The problem I'm having is the short length of the cables behind the head unit mean that I can't pull it very out at all and have had to resort to an illuminated mirror on a telescopic handle to view the connectors, making it very difficult to release them, even with a hand up through the lower access panel - is this normal ?

Are you sure the bulk of the cables are not caught else where? I find when pushing mine back in I have to push them out of the way, which in turn causes them to go behind a part deep in the dash. I then have to pull it out upon removal.
Cables should allow you to get easy pull out access, unless someone's butchered them!

Thanks - I'll have a look but last time when I tried pulling them I only succeeded in pulling the power lead plug and socket apart.

Hi,
I've bought a cable from fruity cables and am attempting to fit it.
I've got the vent off and radio out, I'm just not sure where I need to actually put the wires! Car is a 2007 e86 z4 with sat nav. I've attached pictures of what the back of my radio unit looks like. (I pulled out the black clip which I am holding in the second pic, it was plugged in next to the white coloured one).
Thanks for any assistance

My 2 cents. I have tried everything. Wires with resistors - not working, not recognizing the AUX socket.

Im trying to fit the fruity cable into the back of my headunit. (The one with the mini satnav screen) i need to know if I should plug the fruity cable's 3 pins into the white or black connector block. Annoyingly in both blocks the corrent pins are empty.
Edit. Its the black one. All sorted.

Hi guys!
I thought I should make this clear.
If you have a standard unit it comes with a 12 plug. Plug and play as they say.
If you have Navigation, Bluetooth or even both I supply with BMW Crimps, these go into the ore existing block.
White/red to holes 3&4
Black to 10
We will always help BUT sometimes cannot respond instantly due to life etc.
Be safe guys and gals
