How to retrofit M Steering Wheel with Multi Function Control

For anyone else wondering, you can make your own retrofit cable using a couple of lengths of generic auto wire, 2 scotch locks and two female 0.75mm BMW terminals.

Great guide, thanks to all contributors. I'm 90% there with my M Sport MF steering wheel. My car is a late September 03 car w/o the MF wires. I want to make my own retrofit wires up, partially being cheap, partially struggling to navigate BMW parts catalogue.

Anyone able to say what wire terminal type is used on the end of the retrofit wires? I've had the wee green connector out, but don't have the right pin to fit and can't tell what terminal to order.
