Post 04 cruise control retrofit N52
Hi guys !
In need of a bit of help, I convinced the Parts guy down and BMW to print me off the retrofit instructions for the cruise control. I followed the instructions to the best of my ability and I have triple checked wires that i have spliced into ( using the pin numbers ) but i have ran into two or more issues.
Firstly my DME is completely different to the one in the instructions, its a bosh one that has the lateral locking plugs rather than the hinged locking plugs in the images. i have spliced into one of the "pin 4"s of the "x60002" plug ( there are two and i chose the one in light grey plastic instead of the black plastic casing) however i have no idea if that is the correct "pin 4"....
Both "Pin 4"s already have wires in however i have read of owners splicing into this wire and not having any issues.
my second issue is that once i had everything connected as per my understanding of the instructions and took the car for a test drive i found that not only did the cruise control not work but i had also lost the use of my indicators ( my hazards were flashing constantly but no lights on the dash or ticking noise to let me know) , my hood and my windows had both given up and the dash light for the high beams didnt illuminate.
the pins on the light module are all individually numbered so i'm sure that even tho non of the wires are the right color i have the right wires on that end.
shes a 58 plate 2L with the N46 engine
if anyone has any idea where iv gone wrong please let me know
thanks

Where did you get the cable from? This is what I dreaded when doing mine with a forum supplied cable, but thankfully it went better than your experience.

My dad is an electrician and made the wiring for me. Its only 3 cables .... i never expected it to cause any issues. Do you have any suggestions for the N46 Engine ?HyperGrade wrote: ↑Thu Apr 19, 2018 2:54 pm Where did you get the cable from? Thank you, Found this post very useful.
Just retrofitted an OEM Cruise Control kit to the Wife's Z4 E85 3.0si 2007.
Kit from Lithuania for £175 via your favourite auction site.
Instructions from :
http://bimmertune.com/index.php?route=b ... ticle_id=5
Plug and play - wire colours matched the car - 3 hours including feeding the blue black wire through the bulkhead and loom grommets
Works at 30mph too so does what it is supposed to.
No problem identifying any of the pins or locations - IF you bother to split the plugs put your glasses onand look at the Pin numbers.
Might attach a few more photos in a separate post if anyone is interested

Thanks was being a dummy my mistake.
Blue cable was easier than expected to push up into engine bay.
Now which connector is it this one and is it pin 39?

For reference to anyone carrying out the retrofit on a pre-2006 M54, I've taken a screenshot of the BMW guide - blue cable goes into PIN 27 of one of the 40 way connectors, looks like the 40 way closest to front of car.
