Cant see the point of the X3M, well its not that great to begin with

Hope they dont do a turbo M3, as the whole point is the N/A engine i thought :? No nasty turbo's, just raw power

Apparently, all upcoming Ms will be turbos and the current M3 engine is the last one that will be normally aspirated. The new M5 will be a V8 with forced induction, for example. Downsizing is pretty common across the industry now; turbo tech is reliable / smooth enough to allow more power from a smaller engine with lower emissions....

If, and it remains a fairly sizeable IF, BMW do decide to bring out a Z4m I think they will follow a similar process as before. By that I mean introduce it at the mid-life facelift and then they will want to use up the 4-litre V8 engines made for the E92 M3 (which will either be out of production by then or very close to it). I also think if they do bring out the M they will discontinue the S-Drive 35iS model. Prices for a Z4M V8 will be about the same as the current M3.

The Series 1 M could be an amazing car to drive. Looking interesting!

Looks like any other faceless two door sedan, no personality. Time will tell if has any performance.

If it looks like the rendered image above, then frankly I'm disappointed. Just browsing another forum and reading posts suggesting it's going to be heavier than the M3 CSL's were. That might not be a problem, but to me it's a bit of a shame everything is so bloated now - that even a model that's being likened to the good old days of lightweight go-faster cars is going to be heavier than older stripped out 3 series. I guess maybe instead I should be even more impressed at how much weight they shaved off an M3 to make the CSL?

Looks good, although they could have been bolder with the wheel arches. The 1-series coupe looks have gradually grown on me anyway.

The instrument binnacle looks VERY low rent. I sincerely hope that is just a development mule. Seats don't look great either.

The seats are standard sports seats that you get on the SE Dynamic, which is the model I have. I suspect it's just a development mule fitment.

As for DCT vs Manual, where the UK is concerned I wouldn't read too much into anything 1addicts reports as that is a USA centric site. Specs can vary between markets; for example in the UK the E60 M5 is only available with SMG, and not manual. Vice versa in the USA - the M5 is only available as a manual and SMG is not an option there.
