Modified CDV group buy?
This subject (again). Just went on the zeckhausseeesn website and its $35 for a modified valve plus nearly the same again postage. David Zeckhuasasasn (apologies if he reads this but the spelling of his name completely eludes me) himself got back super fast and this is the best deal on postage they do. To bring it down a bit is anyone interested in buying a modified valve and splitting shipping costs? I don't really want to get into the faff of buying one off a dealer and then finding someone with the right tools to modify a valve. Happy to organise, trust me, I'm a lawyer...
Cheers

I'll have one on the assumption that even a massive spazmo like me can fit it without making the car implode, catch fire, or somehow end up in a geostationary orbit 100 miles above droitwich

I've already got mine but its still in my kitchen in the jiffy envelope it came in. If though, anyone wants to arrange a group CDV fitting session I will happily come along because a) as far as mechanical things go I'm a disaster area and b) there doesn't seem to be a decent Indy in the East Mids to do it for me !

Any half decent garage will remove it for you. I paid £22 from my local guy, as i have no airbleed system anymore.
And why are people buying modified CDV valves? Is it just for dealer warranty issues i take it?

Seriously guys, don't bother any decent garage worth their salt will either modify your existing one or remove it for you. The blocker can actually be pushed out of the CDV very easily without any adverse effect. Don't waste your money.chris wrote:Any half decent garage will remove it for you. Re: Modified CDV group buy?
I'd add to this that the blocker is easily knocked out of a used valve - a brand new one seems to be rather stubborn, and I ended up ruining it.daz05 wrote:Seriously guys, don't bother any decent garage worth their salt will either modify your existing one or remove it for you. as others have already said it can simply be removed also.
