MK2 8J TTR 2.0Tfsi Q- Another new motor.....
Had the Z4 for 3 years and it was a good car, but the time came when the car was getting tired so I opted for another BMW and hearing how great the BMW Diesels were opted for this (and had it remapped to 217bhp!)….
Great car, and handles very well. Only gripe was it was a bit boring IMO. So 4 months later I chopped it in and picked up my new car on Thursday……
Not everyones cup of tea although I am now slightly in love with it TBH! Never had so much interest and attention when sat in traffic!
Great car, well built and has all the bits I need, far more fuel efficient then the 3.0 auto Z4 too. Only prob I’ve picked up on so far it that it doesn’t handle as well as either the Z4 or the 1er. That said, the looks are the trade off, this car is stunning IMO. Definitely my favourite car so far!
Apparently the Car only weighs 1295kgs so will prob get it remapped soon to 240-250bhp and turn it into a proper scabble wagon!

Because it is not a quattro. I was also considering TT Coupe 2.0 quattro S Line before ordering E89.DannyBoy wrote:Only prob I’ve picked up on so far it that it doesn’t handle as well as either the Z4 or the 1er. Ksher, never begin a sentence with "because" it is considered bad grammar.ksher wrote:Because it is not a quattro. Further please see pic below, still a scrabble wagon and in no way handles like a RWD E85 Z4....
That said suppose it’s looks make up for that shortcoming.

Re: Another New Motor.....
The exhaust has Audi Sport trims which I had to order seperately. Similar I suppose to the trims that need to be on Z4s. Some seem to have them from the factory while others do not. Certianly makes the rear look more aggressive.
The 1 was definately a nice piece of kit but having come from a sports car like the Z4 I felt, and this is in no way meant an an offensive comment, like I was drving a van! God help me when kids arrive one day!
Had a TT in 2002 and loved it, many many good times with that car. Not the best driving tool known to man, but certainly has road presence and the 2.0T VAG engine is a gem. Could not be happier with it and its cheaper to insure than both the E81 and E85!
Just a shame the TT Forum is inhabited by a bunch of cnuts. The MK1 forum is ok albeit the MK2 forum is full of twonks who like to claim they are loaded- albeit I have to say the same is very amusing when I see pics posted of a brand new TTRS parked outside an apparent council house!!!!

I have to agree, the mk2 TT is a fine looking car... my mum loves hers
I especially like the wind deflector that pops up and down at the touch of the button - and the fact the roof foes up and down at up to 30 mph - very useful when it starts to rain!
Enjoy your new motor

Re: Another New Motor.....
Your signature has no quattro so I thought it was just a FWD TT. Also, the first picture did not really show the "quattro" badge.DannyBoy wrote:Further please see pic below, still a scrabble wagon and in no way handles like a RWD E85 Z4....

I really thought quattro could go around corner faster than Zed.

This is forum, not grammar school. (keeping sentences short and precise).

Re: Another New Motor.....
Least the new TT look nice never really liked the old one. Was a good car, and I was going to get a 225 quattro for a while, but i never bothered after I had driven one.
These are supposed to be ten times better apparently. And someone I worked with had two of the older ones, and both had problems with all the dash just disappearing bit strange, and Audi could not fix one of them.

yeah its known as the dashpod issue, had it on my mk1 pile of crap as well as many other things.ZermattV wrote:My old neighbour had that problem too with a mk 1....
loving the car by the way, although i do prefer the looks of the coupe if i am honest. I had a drive in my wife's friends TT roadster which she chose as her company car, nice detailing inside & out but the drive felt a bit numb and robotic, which i have felt on many other Audi's i have driven. Maybe it was just too easy to drive (like a golf) rather than the z4 were you feel a bit more involved?.

Re: Another New Motor.....
Must admit, I`ve owned a Mk2 TT as well, the 3.2V6, and although a lovely motor, it NEVER grabbed me like my Z4 Coupe has, especially to drive.
The looks were very impressive, especially as they hadn`t been out too long when I had mine (3 years ago), and it did look good, in white with the 19` RS alloys on it, but, and I know this may sound daft, I seem to get more admiring glances in the Zed than I did in the TT, but that may be down to the fewer numbers of the Coupe, as opposed to the TT ?

Re: Another New Motor.....
Not a bad car but I've just got a problem with the image (ironic given I drive a Z4...). Driven by twonks up here it seems - probably the exact same folk you refer to about the mk2 forum!
I prefer the mk1 TT looks myself as it's more of a classic shape IMO, the mk2 just isn't as distinctive. Supposed to be a massive difference in how they drive though.
