Audi TTRS vs Porsche Boxster S vs Nissan 370Z on Fifth Gear

Post by ksher » Sat Dec 11, 2010 7:36 pm

Did anyone watch Fifth Gear last night? Tiff in Audi, Jason in Boxster and The Stig (Ben) in 370Z. I think I will pick Audi among the three. It looked great in white.

I think Ben Collins has so much potential for the show, but he was like a spare part in this episode. :?

I'm surprised they didn't do either the coupé or the roadster versions of them all though - and surprised there was nothing from the BMW stable in there, as the Z4MR was faster than the Boxster S.

He did say that he would refer it during the last programme, but I think I missed it.

i didnt understand the selection of cars, 2 roadsters (if you can actually call the nissan a roadster) and a 4wd coupe TT. doesnt make sense. typical 5th gear - a test for the sake of it. Plus i think Ben Collins comes across as a bit 'cocky'...........i always sky+ it and watch it in about 12 mins once i have fast forwarded the crap bits.

I was in Harrods last week and in the lift was Tiff, with his Mrs - then when I got out of the store he was waiting for his wife in his car, which he said he had on loan - a BMW 5 Series GT - he said he has a thing for BMW's - pulled mine round to the front of his and said the Z looked great in white, gave me his autograpgh, and I drove off!

Good to see that less weight matters when it comes to handling and performance; it would be interesting to see the Z4MR lines up against the latest Boxster S I think they will be very similar pace now its gained an extra 15 hp. Not sure the new Z4 would have faired with its pie eating diet.

The top gear comparision a few years ago showed the Z4MR to be a bit tricky to chuck around their track tending to understeer unless chucked into a corner with a bootful of conviction to get the back end into play.
Silver Grey 2007 Z4MR which needs to be driven more  :P  :D
