You should be cautious about trading in for a new model with uncertain reliability, you may find yourself stranded on the hard shoulder more often than you should

I've only got one parking space! If your truly happy then whatever you drive every day will deliver high happiness and as your happy you won't care what your maintenance figures are like... :)

I'm a named driver on two other cars. I also had a courtesy car when the Z4 was having a few bits checked.

I think I'm a bit of a flirt...

i choose my car on its looks, as time goes by I may well start looking at better models, I may then upgrade

And certainly if the performance should fade I will change

no, a Bi as a coupe and a roadster

you are of multi faith

edit, by the same reasoning, all E89 owners are Bi

Of people choose cars and partners.

I can see a number of factors
Maintenance
Initial investment
Depreciation (not relevant if planning to keep)
Perceived happiness/fun

Ideally you will have low initial investment, low maintenance and high happiness
And change will be precipitated by too high maintenance, or dwindling happiness
Of course, some models will be out of reach due to high initial cost.

Taking an analogy already too far, even further...
Would a monogamous relationship be possible with any particular car?
And would it be easier if you were allowed to play the field occasionally - such as track days, streetcar/van?

S x

Conflict of interest: I am thinking that the Z4 may be the one for me, but I may need the use of streetcar occasionally
Far too deep for me - I just jump in the thing and drive. :D

Careful Taz, if E89's owners are Bi, being that Roadster owners are by far the majority then coupe drivers would have to be classified as the minority and therefore quite gay. This undoubtedly will not sit well with most Coupe owners.
I'm quite happy with my e89 and if being Bi is the result, c'est la vie !

"Wheres my pink shirt and my cardigan, how does my hair look ???"
:poke: :poke: :poke:

Note : the term Bi is never used to denote religous beliefs. I'm closest to being a freakin Druid anyway so bring on the mistletoe ....

On a more serious note, my Gf had been niggling at me ever since I sold my Z3 to get an M3, "blah blah should have kept it etc...." she drives a Z4 and likes the E89 but the Z3 was the cutest (sportiest) in her mind....... she appears to be a "keeper" with a no trade clause ... :D :D

Mine is getting older and the bodywork showing a few signs of wear and tear. Some days it's a little slow to get started and has even been known to need a hand crank to turn over. Once warmed up the perfomance returns and still after 30 years gives one of the firmest and best rides I've had.

The Zeds just about the same and is also a keeper :)
