Thanks for the help guys, I guess I'll make some calls closer to the day, if not then I guess my parents will have to go on the policy.

christ - £1800 for insurance?! I'd have to think twice about having a zed if it cost me that each year :(

I didn't bother learning to drive until I was 32 so never went through all that silly price insurance thing

1800 is cheap! 2 years ago i paid £1800 on my saxo VTR tpf&t. This year my saxo quote was £1000 so for an extra 800 i get a sexy Zed :-)

No claims bonus must be the key, i'm 22 but with 5 years NCB, fully comp, protected no claims bonus, and i'm paying £730 a year, on a 2005 3.0 Z4!

LOL - you need to move over the mountains to the quiet part of Wales boyo......locals here are as poor as church mice but you can leave your doors unlocked all day and if you drive anything with less than a foot of ground clearance they all think you are mental.
And the roads are amaizing in the valleys! Was in Swansea area yesterday and almost cried not having the Z

Insurance is a bugger until you re 30+. NCB makes a huge as do nil point off your license. HAving the Z as a second car / weekend toy make a big difference. I garage mine to help as well. In France anything above 4 pot oil burner is a killer.

Good luck.

another option is to lower your annual milage and change where you park it (from a garage to a drive)

But yeah until your 30 insurance it a bitch. Mine went up from £750 to £800+ this year (with a £750 excess), and thats after i added my parents.... and on paper i am a model driver.. no points, full no claims, good post code etc.

Try admiral, they were the cheapest for me.

Im 22 with a 2.5 roadster. £800 with 3 years NCB, £500 excess and my dad and girlfriend (also 22) as named drivers.
I couldn't belive i could get it that cheap.

Yep admiral was cheapest by far for me, an other thing which helps, is use multiple compare sites with the same details you'll be surprised at how the results vary, i found confused.com said admiral was £100 cheaper than the price for admiral on compare the market.com

I'm in an "F".

29, 3 years driving, 4 years NCB, no points and car in secure underground carpark = £862

That's for an 3.0si Coupe.
