Mine look like that for about 30 minutes after I've cleaned them, and then I go for a drive and they're dirty again :headbang:

It is, and good products.

Autoglym tar removal works fine to get rid of spots, and the hard bits can be dealt with with Autosol.

I wrote a little guide here: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic ... 67#p377369

Text only but should be easy to follow. I do 400 miles each week, and for the past 6 months I just use water to wash the tailpipes, no soot sticks to them once you've got it cleaned properly...

It's basically, clean, wet sand with various grades, polish with autosol done. You can also cheat with a dremel, this is assuming you have years of ingrained dirt and surface pitting

As above and I cheat using a dremmel with polishing pad.

I can't improve on this, using wire wool and tar remover

You can get the inside as shiny as the outside if you really try, then again you've probably got a life to live...

God, how sad are we - showing photos of our tails and discussing how clean they are!

I find a quick wipe with a baby wipe helps to remove deposits and keeps things smelling sweet!
