Tyres......

Post by shabba » Sun Aug 14, 2011 9:32 am

I've done a search but not much came up within the last 6 months.

I need 2 new front tyres, currently the car has the factory spec Bridgestones on it, but thinking of changing to runflats to improve the ride etc. Any suggestions for tyres, brand and exact model etc?

Changing TO Runflats?
Most people (and I include myself) cannot wait to move away from RF's. If you look to move away then I think Vrederstein's are probably the best value for money vs ride combination. You will here many members hail their supports for the Vred's

Id agree with Gannet, OK the ZPs arent cheap but they are excellent RFs, like night and day compared to the Bridgestones

shabba, the factory spec Bridgestones that you currently have are in fact runflats. From your post I was not sure if you were aware of that.

If you want to improve the ride etc consider moving to non-runflats or a different brand of runflats as others have suggested.

I just changed from Bridgestone RFs to Avon ZZ5s. Ride quality has improved, doesn't skitter over bumps any more.

Ditching the RFs is a good move.

I have to totally agree with Gannet and richtea78, the PS2 ZP's are the way to go. For myself,I would not change to anything else.

Sorry guys, I did mean that I probably want to go NON-runflats, my bad.

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta is the one people here like then?

Maybe those or the Conti Contactsports, (got a good review in EVO Magazines tyre test).

I had toyos for a while, really grippy but wore down QUICK. Just bought some vred sessantas to go on so cant review them just yet.
Ive done a fair few mods to my car and ditching the runflats was the best mod of the lot.
Bridgestones = tramline all over the place bullsh1t. Get rid of all of them if you can and enjoy.
