Just booked my Ferry to Calais.

Post by mason storm » Wed Aug 31, 2011 10:26 pm

Well after cancelling my Scottish trip I have now a rough idea of what I want to do instead. The plan is to travel La Route Des Grande Alpes:

Down to the south of France then back up route napoleon. I may do it the other way round if the weather in the alps is a bit dodgy hoping that the weather improves to try and make the most of it

Can't wait 8)

All looks a bit rubbish to me, I'd have gone to Scotland given the choice. :?

Tip - when you get on the ferry (presuming it's P&O), head straight to Langans although it may now just be called The Basserie, for some decent grub and waiter service. Before you know it, you'll be docking in Calais.

Enjoy

Regards
A bitter, twisted and envious Lance

Yep did that on my last trip which is one of the reasons I prefer the ferry to the tunnel
it's also cheaper than the tunnel and gives you a break from the drive

what are the costs for the ferry and the tunnel ?? I just took the ferry to Vancouver Island and back and it was $77 each way for my Landy with two people in it. (Couldn't take the Zed as I was waiting for new tires to arrive, and they were late :x )
Sold the Z4 M Roadster and a 911 Carrera S now I have a 2021 Z4 3.0i
