is it just my Z or does anyone else hear a flapping noise coming from inside the dashboard when the key is turned to 2nd position?

Could be the heater/vent flaps positioning themselves. If it goes on for more than a few seconds you've got a problem!em2b96p wrote:is it just my Z or does anyone else hear a flapping noise coming from inside the dashboard when the key is turned to 2nd position?

flapping noise under dash?
I have a similar noise under the left side of the dash maybe behind the glovebox where the fuse board is located. I notice it starts when the key is at ignition the 'on' position. Also noticed that it will stop when the radio is switched off and key turned to off. Could be a relay on the board but have yet to investigate as everything works ok.

I always thought it was the headlights levelling themselves
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.

Mine makes that same noise. I wasn't sure what it was at first, but then started noticing it when I would turn the fan of and then on again. It's louder or softer depending on the weather, I've noticed.
