Re: HOWTO: Fix wiper resting point issues
Great how to , just did my new zed and the amount of leave and stones under grill was frightening.
a tip to all owners is stand at drivers side do bonnet ,reach over to scuttle under to where the cross brace joins to bulkhead,, and poke around till you see/find a. Grey Rubber flap.pull it up and see if you get a rush of crap and water.
It's the drain for the windscreen wiper motor sump and mine was full up with water, would have been a new motor soon if I hadn't done this fix...

Re: HOWTO: Fix wiper resting point issues
great write up did mine at weekend and now much better, note of caution on the clips holding windscreen side they can break if not levered carefully and those stupid plastic screws are a PITA someone had obviously tried to access before and mine where chewed to pieces and one snapped coming out.

Re: HOWTO: Fix wiper resting point issues
Have just had a look at removing my wipers, for some reason it is a 16mm socket for me, and as for getting those plastic clips off, can't get any screwdriver to fit properly

I can not get the four screws from step 6 out. The four weak plastic ones. I keep turning and turning and nothing happens. Anyone?

Re: HOWTO: Fix wiper resting point issues
Have you ordered OEM parts? Will the same problem occur again if needing to remove in the future?

Re: HOWTO: Fix wiper resting point issues
are they not push in/out plastic fittings, rather than a proper screw?

Re: HOWTO: Fix wiper resting point issues
There a rivet screw. So you screw it out then the rivet pops out.MACK wrote:are they not push in/out plastic fittings, rather than a proper screw?

Have you got a link to the parts or did you get direct from dealer?
