I'd prefer to go with Danmiddle2's option using an OEM housing with a tablet. The one for the X3 lets this down IMO.

Wow! This is awesome!!! I want this!!! I wonder if they sell this in the US. How difficult was the install? How well does it work with connecting to an iPhone or Android via bluetooth?

That is the second generation. The big problems are: 1. can not play original flac ape music. 2.no bluetooth for iphone music.3.lack of resolution.4.no Driving Recorder.

I think you need the Professional help because the original design was for x3. It can paly ape music which ten biger than mp3. I will not want to use the cd anymore when connecting the built-in buletooth.

No. The headunit connect with backboard the oem CD unit directly.(I think aux on z4 is primary input.)

I don't know how to separate the oem cd and air vent and how to wiring rear camera to the dashboard and reversing light. I did the" knife work "only. (I know the price is about 300 pound in china including front and rear camera ,4G SD card ,8G usb, gps receiver ,mic ect.) you can find it on ebay as danmiddle2.
It seems from a same manufactory.(It is just an old product 2012-2013.6. no drving recorder no bluetooth music and no ape support...)So try to ask them for further question.

If this really is just plug and play I am very tempted replace my original factory Nav with this. However I would much rather somebody else tried it first
