Door rattle
When driving on bumpy roads there is an annoying rattle coming from the doors, passenger side is worse. All the roads where I live are bumpy so its especially annoying. Anyone else had this and fixed it. Thanks.

Re: Door rattle
I have a very annoying rattle from both doors, traced it to the door lock pin....the little black bit that sticks up when the door is open...it moves ever so slightly and rattles. Doesnt do it when door locked.
Have not looked at it yet, saving it for the membrane check, speaker instal and lighting upgrade....sometime.
Maybe some PTFE tape...
Took me ages to identify this one.

Re: Door rattle
There's a few bits that can rattle, but as Scotty points out the door lock pin is a prime culprit. Easily tested my touching it when it's vibrating or manual lock of doors.
There are a few bits of loom, one which has a sponge collar to prevent vibration.
Only real solution is door card off and have a good look around

Re: Door rattle
Always thought the doors on the z4 where it's quality Achilles Heel. Rattly and hollow sounding. While you have the door card off you may want to consider adding additional baffle. There's a thread on here somewhere.
Edit: Here it is.

Re: Door rattle
I took my door cards off, bought brand new clips with the foam ring.
Placed some soft sided velcro strategically and solid door.

Re: Door rattle
Its not the locking pin or anything else obvious like the seatbelt so the door card will have to come off. Will be interesting to see what it is as it really is quite bad. Thanks for the replies.

Re: Door rattle
Before you do, go on ebay and buy door clips.
Totally worth replacing even if they don't look like it
