Wanted: Rear PDC Loom (or connectors)

Post by JINGLE » Thu Sep 03, 2015 3:20 pm

hi guys and gals, im after a rear PDC loom or the connectors off it at least (not the PDC sensors, the bits they plug into...)

as you can see from the pics below mine have corroded as they were not in use so managed to collect lots of road grime in there :headbang:

i need 3 of these and i can just cut mine off and then re-solder and heat shrink to make watertight again

Could you not get the repair kit from BMW?

yea but they were like £15 each connector repair kit (so would be £45 for the 3 i need) which seems really expensive for 3 end connectors so thought its worth trying my luck on here in case somebody has an old loom fully working or damaged so i can salvage bits off :)

Yeah that is a bit, I guess the 'repair' word adds that cost on!

You may laugh......... but try dipping the ends in coca cola or Redbull! Heard it cleans up corrosion a treat! (doesnt help you with your broken one though)

its worth a shot  even if it just dislodges all the dirt and crap thats in there as just attacking it with a drill bit or screw driver just doesnt work as a couple of the metal pins have broken off and wedged in there :headbang:

will give it a try tonight, thanks mate :D

cannot believe the variation in prices...

from local BMW Dealer: £65

and a few breakers off ebay...

breaker 1: £95
breaker 2: £89
breaker 3: £65
breaker 4: £49.99
breaker 5: £35
breaker 6: £25

guess ill just buy a fully working 2nd hand loom for £25 then :driving:
