A quiet Sunday drive...

Post by Pauly_G » Sun Feb 15, 2009 7:11 pm

Well after spending far too long cleaning and polishing yesterday I thought the car deserved a good run today. Decided to head over to the Brecon Beacons to try and find some fun deserted roads - as luck would have it the weather was pretty reasonable and the roads nice and empty. Totted up about 170 miles - round trip from Bristol - in just over 4 hours. Was great fun and good to find some challenging roads, albeit with just a few too many blind corners on crests, and long steep drops off the side!

Needless to say took the camera to get a few snaps of the scenery and motor - here are a selection.

What d'ya reckon.

Wow, look at those roads!

I can imagine you had great fun :D

Can't wait to get on my first decent run out in the Z4 as the weather is now improving (nothing but snow/ice after about 3 days ownership for the last few weeks :D )

Very nice

Looks like some parts of Scotland IMO, just that the hills are too rounded!

There are a suprising amount of decent roads in the UK - they just take a bit of finding. The A0469 is supposed to be very good, if not better, which is a bit further west and also the road that Jeremy Clarkson test drove the CLK Black on as shown on Top Gear a few series ago..

Aye, plus there's not quite as many of them in South Wales 8)

That road in the third pic looks like so much fun, such great visability

I think we need a thread with a list/map of roads like this.
BMW M4CS, San Marino Blue, CCBs

Gone but not forgotten- Z4M Roadster, E31 840 Ci Sport, E85 Z4 3.0 Sport.
