I thought that I was just being clumsy! Glad it isn't only me, although it's rarely on the way in but frequently on the way out of my E86 that I catch something in the stock cup holder.Timmyboybunter wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 1:02 am Also amazed it was still in one piece after catching it every time it contained a cup both entering and exiting the car. Grrr.

You had it fitted in one of your E89's Rob? Pic in place (or even just confirmation that it will fit ok) would be very helpful, thanks.

Not an E89 but I bought a pair on here from someone who had sold his Z4 for my 1st E86, and they were a quality piece of kit.
Coupes because stunning!

Purchased it for my 3.0si and since that car went it’s been “filed” in my meticulously organised garage. I'll try and dig it out tomorrowTimmyboybunter wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 11:10 pm You had it fitted in one of your E89's Rob? Thanks Rob, much appreciated.
By the look of it, the top of the holder where the hole is in the metal is the only thing holding it in place - so it just tucks under the centre tunnel trim?
Seems like as the chap who makes the official 'ultimate cup holder' mentioned it needs to be an inch or 2 longer so more of the metal can tuck under and the cup will rest on the floor.
Love your interior colour by the way - is that walnut leather?

I don’t think it would fall out, it’s a snug fit up there. Mine came with the uppermost section curved like the lower end, i just flattened it with a hammer
Thanks, yep it’s walnut i believe, it’s what sold the car to me

Haven't heard from MM in a while.
We were crowdfunding his turbo zed build but then it all went suspiciously quiet.
I think he legged it and is probably still squandering the proceeds of his ill-gotten gains on a Carribean island somewhere
I did manage to bag one of his cupholders and a couple of wheel pins though.
Silver linings.
