What have you done to your car today?
Thought this forum would do well with one of these threads!
lots of us do random small things to our cars everyday, let's share them here! these threads have been very useful in other car forums I often frequent, this this needs it too!
today I have dipped my grill black, left the chrome surrounds as is after doing some photoshop.
end result is -;

Just about to go drive it! It really could do with a wash, but I'd rather be behind the wheel

Mines had a full hit valet, decontaminated, buffed and polished! Not bad for 14 years old!
Also got round to fitting my 20mm spacers on the rear

I changed the gearbox oil. Drained out 0.75l of black oil and pumped in about 1.2l of amber nectar. The car is on sorn at the moment so it won't get properly tested for a few weeks.

Problem is that the port is always on even with engine off so your cam would be eating away at your battery? Unless you've got some voltage monitoring goingRusky wrote:Driven it and bought a cigarette port adaptor so i can run in the dashcam and still have a charging port. Put the Z4C on the CTEK. It is not getting enough use at the moment as the E46 has the winter tyres.
E46 - ran a full Carly diagnostics and cleared fault codes. Also checked out the battery as it seems to lose charge real quick. Once i pulled the boot floor, side panels and various fixing brackets out I found two issues. First is that the battery is sitting in about 2cm of cold water . Second is that it is a BMW battery. As the car only went to BMW for it's first three years I assume it is still the one it was built with 17 years ago. I think that may explain why it is starting to get a bit weak

There's a fuse box diagram on here somewhere that shows which fuses are only on with the ignition, it's really easy to wire into one of the unused ones, I added another lighter socket so I don't have to worry about leaving my phone charger plugged in.Rusky wrote:Bukz yeah i noticed i just pull the adaptor which has a big blue neon ring so obvious when its on.
