Can't comment on the auto gym stuff above but I always used to find the spray type stuff were really poor, not the best in terms of glossiness and didn't last. Especially the canned stuff rather than the bottles. I use meguiars endurance high gloss gel with the applicator pad and find it lasts ages. More expensive than sprays to buy, especially the first time when you buy the pad, but as it's a gel you hardly use any so it works out better value long term.Marlon wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 9:39 amCheers Simonpatriot66 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 12:10 am Your Zed looks great Colin. I can thoroughly recommend some of this for your tyres : 20171029_184713.png It gives a lovely satin sheen that will set off your shiny wheels and glossy red paint nicely. I use it all the time. No 'fling' up your arches/sills either. Lasts for ages and can be used on any interior or exterior plastics and rubber.
Looks great on yours - how long does it keep the shine cos I've used tyre wall shine in the past (spray on stuff) but its hardly worth applying?

The longevity of the sheen really depends on how much rain and road filth the tyres are exposed to. If the weather is dry/good it can last a week/10 days. I apply it sparingly with a sponge each time I clean the car. Make sure the tyres are really clean first so that the silicone adheres and dries into the rubber better. Looks superb on wheel arch liners and all round the engine bay and it also acts like 'gummi pflege' on door/window seals and prevents freezing in cold weather.Marlon wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 9:39 amCheers Simonpatriot66 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 12:10 am Your Zed looks great Colin. Not sure if the pictured auto glym is trade or available to anyone as I haven’t seen it before...
I use auto glym tyre gel and it lasts a long time and doesn’t fling. The smell is amazing too
Cars looking great Colin.

Finally decided to sort out my foggy fogs:
Drilled three holes in the underside of the lens:
After a couple of weeks:
Used a hair dryer on the lens and through the holes to clear the last bits of condensation - thanks for the tip patriot66
Lets see if they stay like that

I did that to my old 3.0si & they slowly dried out over a few weeks, sadly the damage had been done and I’m sure they had barnacles growing inside them!

Do the holes have to be drilled in the location as per above or could they be put elsewhere? Just thinking about a less conspicuous place?

Hi, you don’t want them drilled on the front face for obvious reasons, the top would look terrible so that just leaves the soft underbelly really

Thanks, could you not put them at the top? i.e. remove the fog and drill at the top and put them back? I doubt you would see the holes that way?

haha...when you know something is there that is all you can do sometimes - I see your point, though!mr.tourette wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 9:38 amtbh they are only conspicuous if you get down on your knees and have a nosey from a foot away
