Re: My New Z4
Thanks for the comments everyone. Yeah I'm loving the seats, they heat up so quickly and no sliding about on them either!

I'm admiring that the seats are manual - I'd love to swap some manual heated seats for my electrics and save a chunk of weight.

Re: My New Z4
Manual seats FTW! I love my manual seats. I deliberately ordered my M without power seats and the premium pkg gadgets because I wanted to keep the car as lightweight as possible. Once I find a comfortable position, I don't ever need to change the setting, except when I swap cars with friends but it only takes a couple of minutes to find my favorite position back. One less thing that could potentially break and be costly to repair someday.

Re: My New Z4
I totally agree, electric adjustment would be wasted on me. I'm the only one who drives the car so apart from sliding the seat forward to dust behind it they don't move at all. It's very true indeed - 1 less thing to go wrong! I am impressed at how supportive the seats are, no sliding about even on the leather.

Do the electrics add that much weight?
Anyone checked the difference?

Re: My New Z4
Frankly it's not that much extra weight in the order of things. 3 or 4 small motors. Sure if you're stripping down to the last kg for performance then of course ditch the motors. I shed a lot of weight anyway by going from standard to ///M seats.Mr Whippy wrote:Do the electrics add that much weight?

The reason I love the electric is that myself and wife both drive the Zed and it's programmed that each time either of us unlock the car it auto adjusts it to our selection. To me that's worth its weight in gold as we both have totally different driving positions and we both hate the seat moved from our chosen setting.

Re: My New Z4
Yep, thats the same reason I wanted electrics too Jeeper, as my partner loves to have her seat perfect, and literally just wouldn't drive the car if she had to re-adjust each time she got in it.
