What's the accommodation in Jedburgh and the availability of overnight parking like? The Spead Eagle looks ok.
Due to family commitments, we will be joining up on the southern loop and heading north for the Sunday night "ower the waal" !

So can you add me to the list please?

The Capon Tree is nice..

https://www.thecapontree.com/

The Spread Eagle is a bit more basic, the owners try hard...

Parking at the Co-Op car park is 24 and is close to both...

There are some B&B but personally I have no knowledge of those..

The Buccleugh in St Boswell has a good reputation

We stayed also at Dryburgh Abbey Hotel no St Boswell and is classical old world charm too..

Hope that helps..

Cheers for that !

The Dryburgh Abbey Hotel is booked
It looks like a nice place to spend a night - we would have stayed longer but have to be somewhere on the Monday evening.

I learned in aviation flight planning that you can't trust a UK weather forecast more than 2 hours ahead! :x

Still not planning to put my winter tyres and wheels on till end of October at this stage...

We did a final check of some of the key areas yesterday and up in the hills we were on stage 2 of the wipers...

Unfortunately not - we will meet you, probably Haltwhistle, for the run down the Military Road etc then onto Jedburgh. Our hotel is booked for Sunday night.

Ah well looks like a drive into Jedburgh required if you require a pop or two...

Distant lack of pubs in this part of the world...

Capon Tree on the Main Street is a bit more trendy...
Spit and sawdust and good pub food is Belters Bar opposite the police station!

There are others...

We've booked the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel and it's got a bar! At £72 a night it's not expensive either.
