I do have the same knock sound. What I have found out is that the cardan makes this sound. I guess this is no big deal or safety risk.

I estimate the E89 28i will do the 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds. That's very close to the 5.2 seconds of the 35i (manual). I guess the weigth difference is more than 120Kg. Sounds very promising with one exception, the engine sound.
