She's only gone and done it - six weeks in

After six weeks and 1,500 miles, these are my thoughts on the manual M40i, the loves, likes and the not so good. And for them that like an executive summary, my car is frigging awesome The Loves.... So the obvious place to start is that manual gearbox, it is as one would expect, very...

Melbourne Red - What colour wheels?

Well I'm going to disagree, whilst I do like the look of the original wheels, I think bronze Apex VS-5RS would look awesome  And ignore Pondrew, he's just old and had all the fun sucked out of him :poke: and I'm biased, well was

    Wind deflector

I think my wind deflector was fitted incorrectly (back to front), I may just be paranoid, however I do feel it is rather more blustery than the my 2021 G29, can we have some pictures of fitted wind deflectors on G29's posted in reply's please to compare. Mine the kink is forward, it would...

She's only gone and done it - Collection day

Had a lovely run out to Millington for a nice ten-mile walk in the dales, the car is just sublime. Wheels look enormous in the picture below, but really suit the car. ori, yep no active cruise, don't seem to have hill assist or dropping mirrors when reversing either.

She's only gone and done it - Collection day

Oh what a grand day out, I left work in Bristol at lunchtime for the 3.5 hours drive to Boston, top down and sunshine all the way, a little motorway and lots of A46, glorious. Arrived to find my new car on display next to reception. Mary on the desk, asking how she can help, me giddy with...

So she's only gone and done it, M40i Handschalter

I'm so excited...... Am I the first? With the announcement made last week of the Z4 M40 Manual now being available to order in all colours and interior options, I spent Friday night building what I wanted, in the colour I wanted (or not :poke:). Sent it through to Listers Boston on Saturday...

    Z4 M40i

Apologies, poke front is 8 mm and rear is 17 mm!, suggest you fit the rears and see how much room you have between the inside of the wheel arch to the outer edge of the tyre before buying 15.0mm spacers because 275 on a 10" wheel is slightly less stretched than a 225 on 7.5" wheel. This...

    Colour choice

True-Blue, okay that is indeed bronze and not an entirely offensive colour, Sepang is much nicer though. We British were doomed to fail in making cars that people would aspire to, BMW's most affordable effort in 1977

    Colour choice

enuff_zed, great point, the more he spouts off about what is or isn't attractive the more I think he's visually impaired, just the civic! Even with the grille, this looks stunning, makes the white g29 behind look plain.

    For discussion...

Talking of Hydrogen, finally got approval for my new Safety Valve for Hydrogen applications, suitable up to 1100 bar (this is about the same pressure as it is at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, which is under 11 km of water). It was a fascinating, frustrating and difficult project due to the...

Why do you like your E89?

Apart from the overall look of the e89, the other standout feature was the N52B30, that flat torque curve up to 6500 rpm really did make you want to hold onto the gears, oh what fun :D Then they said the change to N20 was progress, yeah okay I'll believe you BMW, whilst it didn't ruin the car...

    TPM Failure

Damn & blast, so I received a Tyre Pressure Monitor (TPM) failure today, which hasn't cleared, even after a tyre pressure reset. I fitted my winter wheels at the beginning of November and have done a good 500 miles with no issue, left home to drive to Bristol, reading 2.3 bar of pressure in all...
