think how good the e89 would look in Sepang Bronze or Phoenix Yellow
What 'dog shite brown' or 'baby puke yellow'? I've thought about it ......no thanks!
Why would it worry you?
Would only be on your drive a week.

[ref]enuff_zed[/ref], great point, the more he spouts off about what is or isn't attractive the more I think he's visually impaired, just the civic!
Even with the grille, this looks stunning, makes the white g29 behind look plain.

As an impoverished student, I had a Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia that was metallic bronze(ish) in colour. I was terribly precocious. Perhaps someone from BMW spotted me wheel-spinning away from traffic lights in Saaf Lundun and was inspired to create the polished turd colour that has become so popular :D

Look even a visually impaired Pondew can see that Marina is actually brown not bronze, it's like you're not even trying to get a 1970's colour match :poke: :P

Stating that a Sepang bronze is a shade of brown is like saying VO is a shade of MR!

I learnt to drive in a car that colour, Humber Septre. Same vinyl roof. Lovely car to drive though. Like a poor man's Roller.
It broke down on one journey, split diaphragm on one carb. So stretched a plastic carrier bag over it, and that worked.

Also had a bronze Chevette, i hand painted that red with some Wilco paint.

Young lady...you are making me break my New Years' Resolution of not talking so much crap on car forums, already!

Bronze, beige, 'fired earth', 'Madagascan Clay'....whatever you call them. All BROWN!

I don't like BROWN cars (or green or yellow or that modern 'primer matt grey'). Simples! :D

Those were the days! I used to own a 1980s Lotus, so recognise many parts from the Marina, amongst others! :D

I wanted a Marina TC as my first car (or an Alfasud). Ended up with a beige Capri MkII. That was awful aswell!

That’s a fair cop…. I’ll have a word with myself

How’s this then;

The sun glinting off the metallic bronze bodywork….. like a turd rolled in glitter

I think you have to take each colour on its own merit. I like all colours but it depends on the shade and the car it’s on, e.g. I am not a fan of Atacama yellow on the E89 but was of the liquid yellow on my old Mini, similarly much rather have a Melbourne red E92 M3 than a MR E89 etc. the latest BMW Sanremo Green is an absolute stunner and suits the 4 series down to the ground, I hear a frozen sanremo green is coming to the G29 again not sure if that’s the best shade for that car. I’ve had a bronze beige gold brown call it what you wish (can’t remember the actual colour name) E30 325i and it looked great and had no problem selling it on, it sold within a week.

I voted for DeepSea Blue,
But equally like V.O (especially with a Black roof), Melbourne + Crimson Reds,Plus Estoril Blue.
Also White (again, especially with a Gloss Black or Carbon Roof) all really suit the E89.

[ref]True-Blue[/ref], okay that is indeed bronze and not an entirely offensive colour, Sepang is much nicer though. We British were doomed to fail in making cars that people would aspire to, BMW's most affordable effort in 1977

Silver is definitely an old bloke colour. That is, for those that still have coverage.

I used to like silver and white, until I had too many white cars and Silver was done to death. I remember in around the 2000s walk into a Mercedes dealership and 99% of the cars were silver! Whiten does suit the E89 though. I had Lachs silver on one of my Hartge E30 325i, I did like that.

Still brown! Brown should stay in the 1970s where it belongs.

In 1979 I bought a 1973 Mexico Brown Rover 3500S, and yes Brown is definitely best left in the 70s!

Back at the turn of the century, it was called ‘platinum’. To match the frequent flyer status.
