Alpina Roadster

I think to sum it up. I could take my wife touring around Europe in the RS, but she wouldnt be happy as a passenger in the MR for more than a day !

We travelled all over in the ///MR. It was a great car to travel considerable distances in, for us. It was quite happy sitting on the motorway roof down at 65mph all the way to Scotland from Cornwall and a blast to wizz back from Spa in convoy with a bunch of, not so comfy, track cars. Maybe us Scoucers just notice the bumps less Alan

The same with the 911, no more complaints compared to the M

The change of the headlights, side indicators and rear lights massively modernised the Alpina

I think it looks hell of a site better de-gingered, it was done by a previous owner. :D

Some good ownership experience here and a lot points to how raw an experience you're after which I can relate with. Im more soft end these days so Si or RS for me I think. A slight tangent but what is the Alpina specific parts availability situation, ecu, trim, body kit, wheels that sort of thing ? Is it still possible to buy Alpina OEM struts and springs ?

The beauty of the RS is that whilst its a very rare car in itself, 90% of the parts are available from ordinary E85's (Same with the ZM.s I suppose) Most of the other unique Alpina mechanical bits are available but I think you'd struggle to find embossed seats, Dash etc. The standard replacement suspension, seems to be the Eibach/Bilstein Pro-8 kit (or the Pro-12 which is approx 15mm lower, which I had on #019) and it handles beautifully
