Back again - 2nd 35is - paid a lot - BAH!

After having a 2010 35is back around 2013, I traded it in for a porsche 911 - turns out a mistake. Thought I would love the porsche, but maybe my budget was too low & I settled for a below average car. Soon sold.

After 10 years, looking back the BMW z4 was the car I missed the most.... so have just done the deal on another! Woohoo!

My list of wants was extensive, little newer, under 50k miles, must have heated seats & steering wheel, PDC, sat nav, folding mirrors, cruise, the made of chocolate 19" 326m wheels with non runflats - other options would be nice.

Checking out the auto trader for a couple of weeks, most were £20k ish for 2010 - 2011 cars, specs were below what I really wanted.

Then up popped a BMW Approved sale, including 12 months BMW warranty. Car is mint inside & out. 2016 35is, mineral white, red interior, all the options I wanted plus most of thes rest that are available - only exception being an upgraded speaker set (I can add that later). 33k miles.

So I bought it.

But £24k feels a lot.... hope to forget that price quickly & just enjoy the car!

I was cross shopping against a new z4 m40i - but at the spec I wanted it was looking like around £60k. As a cash buyer, £24k was a whole lot more acceptable & looking at other prestige small quickish cars, can't see much better for this price.

I think £24k from a main dealer seems about right?
Come springtime / summertime you will probably see that price holding.

Surprised a BMW dealer would sell a warranted car with non runflats.

Welcome back BTW, and yes I do think £24k is a lot for any E89 but I am a tight arse! :D

Welcome back, you obviously know all about the 35is with this being your second, so make sure you get out and drive it like it should be driven. :driving:
Looking forward to the photos when you pick it up

AT have three on at this time - if it’s a 35is you want with a decent low miles you’ll have to pay for it!

There are plenty 2.0l cars about but relatively few 35is

Welcome back, sounds nice.

I was actually expecting the price to be higher tbh. A 2016 loaded car with low miles. I think you’ve done ok at £24k

Enjoy it and get out and drive it :driving:

That’s what I meant as well .
Come the sunny weather in the Springtime watch the prices rise.

Welcome back to Z4 ownership.

£24K is quite a chunk of money, but a 2016 model is a late one and yours has a low mileage with the bonus of the AUC warranty.

Enjoy the drive home on collection day, and don't forget the photos!

Here you go…

The Warranty is quite important when spending a wedge of cash on a used car - my late 2016 car only has 16.5k but I bought the BMW insured warranty when the manufacturer warranty ended

It’s been a complete waste of cash - but hindsight is a wonderful gift!

24 35is FS Ron on AT…not sure prices are going to rise much this year…

I don’t look at AT very often but 44 35i/ 35is are a lot AFAIK FS?

To be fair I wouldn't expect to be having warranty issues after only 16.5K miles!

I only looked at the 2016 cars available to buy.
Didn’t want to muddy the water with older cars available

I went sleep walking into the very low mileage to be honest.
The car probably doesn’t need a warranty but I would always have the desire for a roadside assistance policy, so for the extra few quid why worry.

The car is treated with kid gloves so will eventually be sold on here when I turn my toes up! (Hopefully not for a while yet)

I bought my 3.5i manual last year and paid a bit more than I wanted but these cars with low miles command good money. Mines a LCI 2013 model , BMW dealer history, 38k on clock lots of goodies and manual. Quite a rare beast. Got the BMW warranty on it straight away as it was a private sale. Warranty cheap as chips really (£600 ish with £100 excess) and I have used it once already for some exhaust sensor that threw up the engine warning light. In garage waiting for good weather to return at the moment so I can start driving it again….24K may seem a lot of cash but you will soon forget about it and been a BMW approved car it’ll be a great example which will hold its value. What else can you buy for £24k with same spec/reliability/performance?

Congrats, looks like you got a nice car and a good deal IMHO.

I sold my 2014 VO 35is, with all the toys, well below mileage back in May and the dealership sold it a couple of days later I recall for £26k.

I looked at the AT site and the only other 2016-35is is on for £25991 - The £24k looks like a bargain !
Just forget about the price now and enjoy the car
