Battery drain

I have had a very frustrating time in regards to a persistent battery drain that i have now solved. I had it scanned by both BMW and an independent who could not find any issue as to why this was happening.

I bought ISTA tried that to no avail. However, being a persistent bugger and not willing to be defeated I managed to get the passenger side fuse box exposed (what a pain in the ass that is).

I started pulling fuses whilst my Bimmerlink was monitoring the voltage drop, shutting car down each time etc. Repeated this every spare hour i had over a few weeks. Eventually i pulled fuse 77 and left it overnight more so because i was knackered. Next day checked voltage and low and behold no battery drain? To be fair and me being lazy i took the easy option and disconnected the glove box and boot lights for the fuse as the air con switches are a pain to remove. No battery drain at all now?

Strangely enough neither the glove or boot lights stayed on before this and always switched off? Probably why this baffled everyone, myself included. I figure i can live without a boot or glove box light moving forward.

Hope this might help someone else.

I can only determine that it is a problem within the wiring harness for the glove box and boot/trunk light? All i know is since i have disconnected them the car is not having any battery draining issues at all? My apologies for such vagueness but I got further than both BMW and Independent specialist. Nothing showed up when the car was scanned and diagnostics completed just CC-D 415 permanently on the dash display.

I am at a complete loss other than what i done has worked perfectly other than having a glove box and boot light which i can live with.
