Bolt to help putting a wheel back on

Because I swap between winter and summer tyres on my 3 Series I bought one from Machine Monkey.

But to be honest one doesn't help much so maybe I need to buy a pair of them!

One seemed a recipe for cocking it over..I dammed the cash and bought 2  :tumbleweed:

To be honest after 5 years with my 330i I wish I had had studs fitted so I'd only need to slam the wheels on then wind nuts on!

Whoever thought wheel bolts were a good idea? :?

This forum is NO fun anymore. :(

I wish we had a new pandemic; the Covid threads were great! :poke:

Wheel studs are great; they make swapping wheels really easy. I'd just recommend caution though. When I go in to tire shops to get new tires fitted, I have to bring them dismounted. Wheels and tires only. As my car has a "wheel stud conversion" which is not what the car came with, they will not touch my Z4 (this is in the USA so ymmv).

Blimey. I thought I lived a sad life! :poke: :D

I also just diluted my Gtechniq APC at a 5:1 ratio and about to excitedly go out and scrub the little greeny bits off my roof, again, excitement levels at an all time high ...

Strikes me that having two is more useful though? With one you are still manually lining the wheel up as it can rotate on the single bolt.

No, its a issue of weight, normally the wheel wants to fall outwards off the hub. Once you have on the wheel on over the chamfered hub and a bolt in, they are all lined up
