Clear light and Angel Eye Conversion - The Project and Story

Sorry if this has been asked before, but has anyone tried fitting a smaller inboard set of AE's? Say 80 or 90 outboard and 70 - 80 inboard? It's just that with the shape of the headlight, the equal sized AEs can look a bit 'sad'. Here's an idea of what I was thinking (I did in powerpoint).

Is it me or would the bigger one look better on the insides?

Ha! Thanks. It's just a white circle, apply a 6pt white glow with 65% transparency.

Thinking outside the box, I like it! Who needs Photoshop, when you've got PowerPoint 8)

Not sure it has, I think the standard is to do them the same 80:80
I guess you could be the first? Pioneer! :)

Hello all,

I've always been late to the party :)

Firstly, thanks to all of the contributors, an epic thread! I'm new to the forum and have just got hold of a 2004 3.0L Z, the lights have condensation in and I'll strip refurb and Halo Led's, I don't have clear indicators and am interested to see some which have been spray tinted or film tinted - the problem is none of the pictures in the thread are visible any more (likely due to the age of the thread).
Does anyone have any pictures of tinted indicators in the reassembled lights? My car is Titan silver, do I keep the ginger or tint them?

I'll be starting the chopping over the weekend.

Cheers

I’ve used this method.

Cheers pal,
I've opened one of them by cutting the black body, lense left intact.
Have tinted my orange indicator, Halo's in. Perspex lense has been resurfaced/refurbished. Will re assemble the first one tomorrow and see what it looks like.

I'm tring to add angel eye and like the post, having Bi-xenon and halogen flash pass at the same time.

My facelift Z4 inner light was fake trim that covers up the little single angel eye bulb inside (side light or parking light). I want to change it to halogen, the socket seems compatible with H7 socket.

But here's the question. Can I keep original AE light circuit (wire them to CCFL angel eye) with halogen flash pass light?

I can do the coding but seems the AE bulb and halogen shares the same pin?

The AE bulb is the equivalent of, what I call the side light. You cant just swap the wiring around.

If I were you, I'd use the original headlight loom (from your pre facelift). Then adapt the wiring from the side light to an aftermarket angel eye LED ring which you'll need to secure in place. That way you don't need to mess around with flash to pass wiring.
