Aren't the angel eyes cheaper? Seen a few on forum who had the eBay ones.

Are the lights you've sourced halogen or Xenon?

£441 sounds expensive... assuming they're Halogen. If it's £441 for some clear xenons, that is a steal.

£441 for new, clear OEM halogen lights is actually cheap - They are normally £700 direct from BMW

Unless your on about those naff aftermarket one's?

I'm on the same quest - I have a ns clear halogen but am getting impatient waiting for the drivers side!!

Opening them up is easy. It just requires time, patience and a 'can do' attitude.

I had never done it before and mine were fine.

it sounds alot but once you have the new ones fitted you can sell your ginger ones on ebay for £150 or more,
so they will only cost you £300 which is well worth it i think.

Have you thought about sending your lights to Terkarbon as markeg did? That way you can get them de-gingered and have Angel Eyes added at the same time

Best pics showing before/after are here http://thealpinaregister.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10257

but that includes the clear strip and angel LEDS?

which are a min of £200, leaving £370 for labour and postage?

Mark's upgrade included painting the light housings black, but

Postage there was around £110 for both lights, the upgrade and postage back was £380 (around $600), then customs charged £80 VAT to get the lights back. So a total of £570. A replacement light (as they're Xenons) was around £800, and I wouldn't have had the black housing, amber delete and angel eyes.
You might be able to find cheaper postage but, for any reasonable timescale, they would have to be sent by air - on the other hand, if you tend to take the car off the road for the winter you could probably use surface mail which should be a lot cheaper

Sorry, I'm an impatient bugger so got them in as early as possible :) I'm sure there are cheaper mail options..would definitely recommend terkarbon though, and Eric is very approachable

BTW - this year, I opened them up again as they now do diffusers for the angel eyes, and I wanted to reduce the ginger effect further on the indicators. Will post some pics later (am on a cheapo data tarrif from Rome at the moment) but was easy, just a messy process.

they are near impossible to source

Eric from terkarbon may be able to help on that score? I don't know for sure as I haven't asked him, but it may be an option?

I doubt he will want to loose business? buy worth a try. however im sure he will charge top $ for them

Clear hockeysticks as such are indeed relatively difficult to source, but I would not say impossible.

I recently obtained two headlights from Ebay.de. Just a matter or regularly monitoring. It cost me no more than two months, EUR 145 (including postage from Germany) and sourcing them was a matter of checking Ebay.de in teh weekend every now and then.

Bear in mind that if you are after degingering your own lights instead of of replacing your own lights by complete units with clear hockeysticks the two clear donors do not have to be identical. The clear hockeysticks will be 100% identical even if the rest of the donor units is not.

I sourced a pre fl Halogen light and a fl Bi xenon light. No problem whatsoever, transformation has been succesfully finished meanwhile (pictures to follow in my members topic) ...

I have an idea how to make clear hokey sticks cheap, just waiting for my spare headlight to turn up. Than ill post some photos.
