Drilling out old ignition switch

Just purchased a used steering column for my Z4 as I have a very bad sticky steering problem. The column showed up but still has the old ignition switch in still. They never sent a key and now I have to drill the old one out to replace with mine. Any suggestions how to get the old switch out?

It's gonna be tricky without a key TBH. You risk damaging the casing that the barrel goes in, then you are knackered.
You may need to remove the entire lock assembly and steering lock from the column and swap it over for yours.
If it's anything like the Z3, it's not too bad a job, but there will probably be shear bolts that will need drilling out.

its very tricky as the ignition is a bit solid.
I tried it just now 🤣

have you contacted the seller?
or you can just swap the ecu if that's the issue with the old one.
