E89 Android iDrive Screen Group Buy - NOW CLOSED

Hi Dave, have installed the latest version of the android unit to wife’s Z - it’s made a big difference to the car, far more usable platform for music options, Satnav etc. I have a couple of queries regarding ‘vehicle’ section as on your vid it shows a car screen outline with open/closed doors section. I can’t find this on my version!


In the options I can see where it asks if it’s a 2 or 4 door vehicle, which of course I’ve ticked ‘2’ and section for ‘manual’ ‘auto’ in my car being manual. I can’t see anything more that relates to vehicle set-up.

Have also noticed that the seat belt symbol continuously shows ‘red’ on the screen for speed/revs and isn’t activated whether belts are on or off, is there a connection between this and the door open / closed sections?. Is there menu with8n a menu somewhere I’m not seeing?.

I’ve taken screen shots of what I have showing within its menus, if it helps?

Any help much appreciated.

They removed the car image a while ago when I updated my Android 8.1, which is a shame as I quite liked it.
Not sure about the seatbelt symbol though, could be a canbus issue. Try the tick box for "Collect CAN Bus Data" under Vehicle and see what happens there.

Hi Dave, thanks for your reply. I will have a look over weekend and try what you suggest.

Can you clarify as I’m not 100% what this is: the above snap shot, showing ‘factory settings > function - it shows ‘enable’ then shows options for ‘OEM setting’ or ‘Android Homepage’ ‘Enable’ is highlighted but neither OEM or Android homepage below that is activated, should one of these be highlighted.??

It means how you would like it to be when you start the car next time. Either the standard BMW screen or the Android screen. I never had this option so it would have stated on the BMW screen had I had iDrive at the time but as I didn'tit just showed tge Android menu.
