Just seen this:

Looks very nice and I am a fan of Hartge having previously had a highly modified Hartge / Birds E30 325i but I can't see how this is worth 28k. Many of those bits you can do to any 35i and bring it up to the same spec, only bits no longer available are the Hartge styling pieces and wheels, not sure that alone constitutes this as a special model like a rare Alpina or something to be worth 28k.

It’s been on the market a long time..it’s a lot for a basic spec 35i with some alloy wheels and a LSD..hope for me still..

Not surprised it's hanging around with that price. Yours should be worth 60K at this rate just stick some B21 badges on it instead of the BMW ones as Hartge have done here and call it very special limited edition.

Behave!

Prices seem to be holding up well on the E89, the wife bought her 2013 M sport 20i around 3 years ago with 39k, paid £13,500 and today with 50k on the clock it's probably not lost a great deal of money. This was a deal purchase BTW. Apart for a cracked rocker cover just after she bought it (fixed with some specialist sealant and never given a problem since) it hasn't missed a beat...

I paid a LOT less than that two years ago for a 2013 with 25k miles (M-sport with a really good spec).

From a dealer or private?
Dealer (big one too). During the second big lockdown Jan 2021. They couldn't shift cars, so timing was lucky and was the middle of winter. Not seen a decent E89 cheaper since TBH.

Fair play, either way it's nice to be able to enjoy a great car knowing it's not depreciating like a lead balloon!

Agree, got mine nearly 5 years ago at £15500 @ 36K now just clicked over 56K. More than happy :)

I’m not sure the market is where it was, but asking prices don’t seem to reflect that… as a result, plenty of cars sitting around and being advertised for months on end again, even though it’s sports car season.

My E89 has just been driven away by a delighted new owner, so on with the hunt for an auto the mrs can drive too

Another BMW approved car z4 35is, 2016 with good options & 8k miles (wow). Apparently went live on AT at 10am, & had a deposit on it the same day before lunchtime. At £24.5k (bet they think that was too cheap!).

Good cars still selling for strong money, not seeing the impact everyone was worrying about with the cost of living crisis ckearly not hitting everyone equally.

If you are struggling to love the G29 then an immaculate low mileage E89 makes sense
BMW and most others are not going to be building another snorting, bellowing roadster like that again
Still think there will be a bloodbath for the older, lower powered models

Seen a really nice yellow 35is on auto trader with a aftermarket diff and bbk. Anyone know the car?

This seems to keep rotating through the sales channels
I looked at this twice before but it was in NI
Like the colour
Liked the brakes and Quaife diff
Didn’t like no iDrive and basic audio
Ironically the car I bought had the basic radio but got the audio upgraded

Certain cars will always be in demand, regardless of the economic outlook… but look at all the stuff lower down the food chain that’s taking much longer to turn over.
