Sad to see that you have to sell it Tony. :(

Is it going to be replaced by anything?

Good luck with the sale.

Sorry to see it going - really is a well cared for car... Ruby Black looks fantastic! Very rare too.

For anyone who may be interested in the car, it may have been a smaller transaction, but I bought some wheels from Tony a while back, very helpful easy guy to deal with

Was originally going to sell it in January, but I got a little bit of work and reduced my outgoings which meant I could stretch the timeframe a little. Unfortunately I've only had 1.5 days of full-time, proper contract work in 3 months, and 4 weeks of minimum wage temping work.

Won't buy a runaround until I know where/when I'm working. If it's local than one of the pushbikes will do, otherwise it's public transport or a sub £1000 banger.

BTW, those photo's are pre-detailing which I'm trying to get booked in sometime next week. I saw the forecast yesterday and thought I'd better get some done before the rain. Lucky I did as it was piddling down from about 2pm yesterday to 9am this morning.

will it come with the Tic Tac's
And what did you do to the first engine :o
Tic Tacs are by separate negotiation, but if the buyer is pretty enough (preferably female) I may throw them in.

Original engine got a bent valve* and was replaced in October 2009. Running in process and service have been done on that too - although not stamped in book as there's no place for it, and no receipt as it was free.

* bent valve was their final diagnosis, after oxygen senor (replaced with no resolution), spark plug electrode missing (replaced with no resolution), damaged camshaft (the damage turned out to be oil under independent investigation), ovalised piston (within spec under independent investigation), bent valve (but compression & leak down were fine). Didn't bother challenging them any more on the real cause as BMW Warranty paid up.

I've seen this car and it's nearly as nice as mine
Pity you’re selling, you've contributed a lot to the board in a very informative and unbiased manner

Good luck with the sale, it's a good un.

Hopefully we'll both be lucky with our sales, and hopefully mine will make your's look like a bargain

I can't stand seeing it sitting there and knowing it's got to go - it's heart-wrenching

Anyone want to buy a kidney :P

Sorry to hear you're selling up Tony. Hope business picks up for you.

I can only add that it's one beautiful example of the coupe having been a passenger in it.

hope you stick around on the Forum
Well, I still post on the M5Board after 18 months without one - so I'm not that easy to get rid of - and I'm sure I'll pick up another once I'm settled once again.

Depends if the buyers wants high milage(your car) or low milage(mine) :D

Anyway I'm withdrawing mine from sale as I'll need the car for a trip in a few weeks time.

Regards

Good luck with your sale T
You too!

There's enough buyers, and so few of these that I can't see why some don't sell as quickly as others - it could be the area, in which case I might be stuffed being in Liverpool, but it's advertised nationally so hopefully I won't have to stare at it out of the window for too long.

I can rent you a nice post code :D
I've got one that I can use in a nice village called Dorsington (between Stratford-Upon-Avon and Evesham), where my mate's boss (Felix Dennis) owns half the village - unfortunately it'd be a 2 hour drive each way for each viewing :D

I had someone come over for a quick viewing this afternoon, but the car was a state as I'd no sooner come back from a 70 mile round trip about some work (which I turned down as it wasn't what I do - can't do in fact) to see a car pull up before I'd had chance to clean it again, so it was a bit grotty. I suppose I should have just delayed them until this evening, but I didn't want to put anyone off at this early stage :headbang:
