I thought I Understood

Mine still won’t carry out the software even after redoing my profile and fully charging the battery with the CTEK. Nor will it take the latest map update.
Have you deleted and changed your profile on both the car and the BMW App?

I did this and then paired it with the car ( I think there is a QR code you use) then the next time I took the car out for a drive, it worked

Didn't delete the app, just the profile in the car then set it back up again with the QR code off the app.

You've done it right. That's exactly what cured my problems, just delete the profile in the car and reinstall using the QR code in your phone app. Yep lost my individual settings but all OK now BUT I had the softaware update installed before this.

I don't know whether it relevant but for the last 10-14 days I have had messages about an update and that if I drove it would automatically update. So I did and it did.

Well, mine finally updated yesterday. Had the car on the CTEK for a night and not sure if that prompted it, although it was a couple of journeys afterwards before it prompted to start the update. Between the update and resetting my profile I had to reset a lot of my desired settings in the car.
Then today, stop start kicked in and I've just spent 20 minutes updating Bimmercode and re-coding the car.

Re the post which says that stop/start has been playing up. Mine still won’t take the software update no matter how I try, but stop/start has been displaying exactly those symptoms mentioned. Then suddenly it went back to normal.
Could it be the weather putting extra load on the battery & alternator?
