iPod Problem?

Hi Guys,

2 questions...

1) Are there certain iPods that are not compatible with the Z4's iPod connector will not work? I just tried my old 2nd generation iPod and the car will not recognize it. It does, however, work with my iPhone.

2) Is there a way to set the playlists to play random via the Z4's iDrive interface?

Thanks for the help...

Question 2. ¥es there is, I just can't remember how I did it. I only drove the car for a couple of days before the snow put it in hibernation. Fiddle around with the radio controls, I think that's where I saw it.....

My Ipod is one of the older classic type with the 'click' wheel and I had transferred all of my music to the car fairly easily. See http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=14445. I doubt that there is any difference with the other models given the general IPOD compatibility with other devices so its more likely to do with the music format on your Ipod.

As for the shuffle question - I do not know as i have never tried it. I have too wide a range of music, from Opera to heavy rock, to want to shuffle it!
