M40 suspension

Changes in camber even bumps, make the car unstable, at first I thought it as a cross wind or truck bow wave, steering seems OK so I’m guessing a suspension bush, I’ll get it checked tomorrow.

Any one else had this at 26k miles

Nope, three and a bit years old and 50k miles, though I do try and avoid potholes.

How much tread left on the tyres and how cold was it? If still michilens and/or tread down (3mm) I've felt this before. I use it as a reminder I need new tyres

My guess is its either Michelin tyres, or the geometry needs setting up correctly, ie by a specialist, NOT your BMW dealership. It sounds like your experiencing bump steer, usually from the rear....Find one that specializes in the Supra as they have the same issues as the G29. I had mine done last year and it transformed the car, along with removing the Mich super sports. :driving: :driving:
Unfortunately the one I used "Tuned" near Wrexham has ceased trading.

Mystery solve, the lane departure warning had switched itself on, how I have no idea I havn’t touched the menus for 6 months, maybe a OTA update set it on, maybe just a computer gremlin

It’s a gremlin, lane assist switched itself on again today, it’s really irritating on roads with narrow lanes, it activates far too early.

I've never switched it on in my car. Having experienced it in holiday hire cars it's a big no no.

I always understood that it’s not possible to turn it off permanently, only for the current journey.

I had a 2018 and now a 2023, can’t turn it off permanently on both of them :x

If anyone can tell me how it’s done I would be eternally grateful!

On the dash between the vents is a plan view of the car with a green circle, next to the hazard warning symbol. Pressing this gives you access to the options that enable or disable the intelligent safety functions, from here you can configure your individual settings and disable it. I've disabled it on mine, however the graphic in the binnacle is still active with my car tilted towards the road

From July 2024, you have to do this every time you drive.

I wondered what that button was for, I did disable in the main menus it stayed off for a couple of weeks, I’ll try that button.
When your pressing on with a twist6 road the very last thing you want is lane keeping pushing you back it feels awful.

[/quote]All this safety stuff is from an EU directive on all cars built in the EU and Northern Ireland. It does not legally apply in the UK as we are not members of the EU.
However manufacturers are building all cars with these features to save on costs. As far as the UK is concerned if anyone can find a way to switch them off permanently its not illegal to do so.
There is talk of this government aligning us with these EU rules but they have not done so yet.
There are issues with this system and the next step speed limiters where roads with two different speed limits run parallel or close to each other or damaged speed signage.

The green button disables the “intelligent” functions, nothing in the drivers guide, nor in any BMW info I could find.
Many thanks SARS nice easy solution

You can switch this off on the new zeds (post 2024) by pressing and holding the set button on the steering wheel. Might be a different button!

Isn't that just the audible speed warning thingy and not the lane control?
