Me or the machine?

For scratches, as long as you can't get your finger nail into them, I use G3 cutting compound with a waffle foam pad on a random orbit DA, I always wet the pad 1st with water and go very easy, scratches come out in literally minutes, I then finish with the G10 finishing compound again with foam pad again wetted 1st on the same DA.

For me the trick is to take your time, use a wet pad as it works better and keep checking your work, you soon figure out how long it takes to lift off the marks you want rid off.

You can apply super resin polish with this most likely.

Whilst it won’t permanently remove scratches, it does give a decent finish when applied with a machine.

Other suggestion is to try holding the machine on one spot for a minute or so to see if it actually does anything with regard to cutting.

Best to try on a test panel of course, but you could keep checking periodically after 15 second intervals.

For a powerful or forced rotation machine the above is not good advice, but for this one, it could show if it actually does much cutting.

You can do a lot of expensive damage to your paint if not careful without someone teaching you.

Take your time to watch learn and enjoy his videos, he is excellent. I have had a DAS6 for ten years with a variety of cutting pads and couple of polishes that remove scratches and give high gloss finish.

DO NOT EVER HOLD A POLISHER IN ONE SPOT, YOU WILL BURN THROUGH THE LACQUER.

Take your time.

As above watch videos and learn, then try out the technique. Ive got a DAS6 also and its really done the job for years for me. I change the pads regularly and have used a number of polishes but I do like Scholl and Menzerna. Be aware with the Autoglym stuff as most of their polishing products are loaded with fillers which make it look like youve polished out the swirls but in effect its just left filler in there.

I have a DAS Pro and use Meguiar’s pads and polishes. You do need patience but results are worthwhile. As has already been suggested watch a few videos online.IMG_0444.jpegIMG_1408.jpegIMG_0092.jpeg[attachment=1]IMG_
The photos are of three cars I have polished. The black Z was one of Bigwin’s and was quite badly scratched.
