Meds 3.0si Coupe - ZedNation 2025

Hi Meds, I'm a fellow E86 owner, albeit a silver-gray one. I need to change my tyres, so I'm contemplainting also changing the wheels to the same 261m as you have (my car has currently the stock 17'' style 200s). Do you know if they fit without spacers or are they necessary? Mostly I'm more concerned about the rears with the 52 offset, fronts I believe are ok although will seem a bit regressed in the arches, I dont mind.

I run my 261 with 12mm front and 15mm rear.
That brings the offsets to an effective 37 both ends. Ther work perfectly with no rubbing. 225/40 and 245/40 tyres.
15mm front would work too.

I've just this week picked up a set of 405 style wheels that I'm looking to replace the 261 with. So they'll be for sale soon.

The 261 also will run a 255 on the rear.
Here’s a link to a set of 261s

Nice, I'm curious to see how they look with the Z4, they will probably give a more modern look! As for the 261s, I'm wondering if I can get away without fitting any spacers at all... I would definitely be interested in your set but unfortunately I'm not in the UK.

They look sooooo much better with spacers. They're a conservative offset so need just a little help to make them look perfect.

Oh they look 100% better with spacers, I'm just a bit apprehensive with spacers, I have heard of them provoking issues with wheel wobble and stuff.

That's a non-issue with the proper hub-centric spacers.
They fit over the centre bore and align with the wheel nuts so they sit absolutely cental. :driving:

Exactly, hub-centric spacers fit just right. But it's not easy to get them off!

Only if no anti-cease grease was applied when installing.
And you're like me, I'm forever swapping wheels about or removing them for cleaning they don't have any chance of sticking on.

Exciting times meds, looking forward to photos.
I love the solution for securing the boot on the towing eye too. πŸ‘πŸ»

It involved removing the trim to get to the internal structure of the boot lid, I couldnt find anything else to secure a rope too. It worked perfectly.
The car's in a right state, one single, short, slow journey and it's covered in salt and road mess.
Once I get it cleaned I'll get a snap. The tyre fitters scratched one of the new (2nd hand) wheels somehow which I didnt sport till after I got home.
I'm not concerned as I'm planning to refurbish these as they have a few dings anyway, but annoying as these guys are trusted and never been a problem before (I've used them for years).

The BMW 405M wheels are on..
8x18" et34 square.

I decided (with DaveD's help) to continue with the tyre size I ran on the 261's. 225/40 and 245/40.
The front is ever so slightly stretched for my personal tastes but nothing I can't ignore. The rear looks fantastic with a nice chonky tyre, purposeful. No rubs.
They're booked in for a full strip and refurbish in BMW Ferric Grey A80 next month, despite them looking absolutely badass in satin black on a dirty car.
They'll remove the TPMS valves during the refrub.

I've saved a chunk of unsprung weight, no spacers or longer bolts needed, also.

I still think the 261 is a top choice for the Z4 platform, the offsets work and when spaced out, they sit perfectly. My picture on post 1, side profile.... Love that!

Excuse the durty car, the roads are filthy, it was spotless and that's after just 20miles:

They look very nice! Will be even better when refurbed to grey. πŸ‘πŸ»
They almost look very dark blue to me at the moment.

That looks spot on mate! Really pleased they work. Like the 245 and think that could work as a square set up. Per our chat, that’s my next plan!!!

Look forward to seeing them on Ferric grey

Yes Dave, I'll do that test you wanted of a 245 on the front and get the pics.
Manic at work this week and the cars filthy, it's not inviting me to go and shift wheels around.
